What is an Ablution Block?

An ablution block is a dedicated facility that provides essential hygiene and sanitation services, typically including toilets, showers, and handwashing stations. These are commonly seen on construction sites, at events and festivals, campgrounds and sometimes school and community centres.

SCF Ablution Blocks are insulated for optimum temperature control and are fitted with urinals, cubicles, hot and cold water, and functional windows to improve natural airflow. Separate male and female facilities are also available, and our ‘plug and play’ plumbing ensures quick and easy deployment.

Every Ablution Block comes with power and lighting, two stalls with two urinals (male), single (male) or double (female) basin and vanity.

Built with the same high-quality materials as our standard containers and portable buildings, the SCF Ablution Block is a staple for busy sites that require amenities. Each unit is construction compliant with all Australian standards and the National Construction Code 2013.

Our construction range thrives in harsh environments. Built from steel (including steel doors) with high quality fittings, our units are designed to last so your site isn’t interrupted.

Ablution Block for Sale

For long-term projects or construction companies, purchasing an Ablution block makes sense. Transport from site to site with ease, make changes to the internal or external colours, including custom branding, or use it for accounting purposes.

Ablution Blocks for Hire

Sometimes hire is a better option for your business. In the case of ablution blocks, you can hire for the duration of each specific project, and then return to SCF at the conclusion. This makes it easy to manage stock and inventory, especially if there are gaps between projects.

You also have access to the newest fleet of ablution blocks, which are maintained between hires by SCF's highly skilled and qualified depot staff. This makes it easy for your business, so you can concentrate on the job and forget about the (messy) upkeep of your ablution block

How is this container delivered?

Ablution Blocks are compact, meaning they won’t take up too much space on your site. Any cleared, level part of the site should fit an Ablution Block. How we access the site will depend on our method of delivery, but the following methods suit these units.

SCF Shipping Containers - Delivery Method - Tilt Tray

Tilt Tray

This is the most common method. We tilt the truck’s tray, then slide the container off while the vehicle slowly moves forward. Just note that the container’s height will increase when it’s tilted – so if your site has overhead obstacles (like power lines) we may need to go with another method.

SCF Shipping Containers - Delivery Method - Side Loader

Side Loader

If your site has limited space around the shipping container’s final position, side loader delivery could be the best option. The container is unloaded between the side loader’s two outrigger feet – about 0.5m from the truck’s side. We use side loaders to transport 20ft and 40ft shipping containers.

SCF Shipping Containers - Delivery Method - Hiab Crane

Hiab Crane

We use Hiab cranes when there’s not enough space for a side loader or tilt tray – or if your site has other tricky obstacles to manoeuver around (like fences). The crane lifts and then places the shipping container. This method also makes it easy to place containers at an angle, or on raised areas.
